About the Saraiki Cultural Region

The Saraiki cultural region is associated with the Saraiki language, folk music, poetry, Sufi traditions and a rich cultural heritage. It is particularly associated with southern Punjab and adjoining areas where Saraiki-speaking communities live. Cultural and linguistic identities vary across localities, and the region has no universally agreed official administrative boundary.

Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and other cultural centres contribute to the region's diverse history and identity. Language use and cultural affiliations vary across localities, so the region should not be understood as having one universally agreed official boundary.

This map is intended for cultural and linguistic awareness, not as an authoritative representation of official administrative boundaries.
